Superior hair extensions are a semi-permeant hair styling solution. This means that while they won’t last forever, they have the potential to last for months and sometimes even years with proper care. On this page, you’ll find a thorough guide on how to care for your hair extensions. Following this guide will prolong your extensions lifespan and keep them looking top-quality every time you use them.

LEARN MOREAll Superior Hair extensions are made from 100% Remy human hair - but this doesn’t mean you wash them the same way as your natural hair.
Removable hair extensions like clip ins and halo extensions only need to be washed every 15 to 20 uses. They don’t get dirty very easily, and this is because they do not produce natural oils like your scalp does. Check out a step-by-step guide below on the best way to wash your removable extensions.
Semi-permanent extensions that cannot be removed easily can be washed similarly to your natural routine, but we do suggest washing hair only 2-3 times per week. Make sure to massage gently and to avoid shampoos with parabens, alcohol, or sulphates.
We do not recommend you colour your Superior hair extensions, but it is possible to do so. The better choice is to ensure you get the colour you want in the first place by taking advantage of one of our colour matching services.
If you do choose to colour your extensions, please note that damage caused by this process voids any warranty. If you are still keen to continue, we recommend doing a patch test on a few strands of your extension before committing to the whole weft.
Never lighten your extensions with dye. The extension has likely already been bleached and further lightening will cause irreversible damage. If you are looking to lighten your colour, we suggest following our step-by-step hair washing guide but swiping out your regular shampoo for a alcohol free, paraben-free, sulphate-free purple shampoo.
It is critical to use the right products to wash and style your hair extensions. Where your natural hair gains nutrients and oils from your scalp, extensions rely on you to apply friendly products to keep them beautiful
for longer.
Organic products are usually a good bet, and products that are designed for dry and damaged hair tend to work best for extensions. These products help to retain moisture while keeping extensions nourished.
Avoid any products that contain paragon, sulphate, and alcohol. These baddies only damage your hair extensions and can cause them to become dry, matted, frizzy, and tangled.
Argon oils are recommended to keep hair healthy, but make sure you remain light-handed when applying. Don’t over-do it when it comes to products like hairspray, wax, and gel. These products build up over time and require you to wash your extensions more often. The more you wash, the sooner you’ll need to replace them.
